Tressa Cheney, FNP-C, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner at Ogeechee OBGYN team, a compassionate practice serving women in Statesboro, Swainsboro, and Sylvania, Georgia. A local through and through, Tressa was born and raised in Metter, Georgia, and has dedicated her professional life to improving healthcare outcomes for women in the rural communities she calls home.
Tressa's journey in healthcare began at Georgia Southern University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1999. Before advancing her career, she spent three years gaining invaluable bedside experience as a Labor and Delivery nurse, a role that sparked her lifelong commitment to women's health. In 2005, she returned to her alma mater, Georgia Southern, to complete the Family Nurse Practitioner program and earned her board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Before joining Ogeechee OBGYN full-time, Tressa served in the Rural Nursing Outreach Program at Georgia Southern University, where she provided essential healthcare services to underserved populations. This experience reinforced her patient-centered approach and her ability to provide compassionate, accessible care to women at every stage of life—from adolescence through menopause.
Today, Tressa provides comprehensive gynecological and obstetric care at our Statesboro, Swainsboro, and Sylvania locations. Her deep roots in the community and decades of clinical experience allow her to build lasting, trusting relationships with her patients. Tressa currently resides in Pulaski with her husband and two children. To schedule an appointment, call Ogeechee OBGYN or book online today.
