Annual wellness exams provide preventative services and care for women’s health. These visits should include a comprehensive examination, including breast and pelvic exams, Pap tests, and screenings for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) if needed. Regular check-ups allow for early detection and treatment of any gynecological issues.
It is recommended that you start seeing your OBGYN for routine annual exams once you become sexually active.
If you are not sexually active and do not have other female related issues, it is generally recommended to start seeing your OBGYN for annual exams at the age of 21.

Although you can be seen during any part of your cycle, try to avoid scheduling your exam while you have heavy bleeding.
